No need for CRA meeting: Karnataka Minister

The Karnataka Government, with reference to a statement of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa has said that there is no need for a meeting of the Cauvery River Authority as sought by the latter.

The Minister for Water Resources, Basavaraj Bommai told The Hindu that the State is expected to release 192 tmc ft. of water to the lower riparian State as per the orders of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal and this is being adhered to. “There is no need for a CRA meeting since we have been releasing more water than stipulated. Further all these matters are also pending in the court.”
