National Integration Camp to be held in Vijyapura

The city would be hosting the “National Integration Camp2015” for five days from February 5, in which, some 250 participants of 11 States of the country would be participating.

Informing at a press conference here on Friday, Deputy Commissioner, D. Randeep said that the event is being organised by Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Services, Nehru Yuva Kendra and the District Administration with an objective of promoting national integration among the people.

He said that the participants of different State would not only be displaying their talent, but would also give an opportunity for the local people to see the tradition and culture of people of different States.

“The participants of States such as Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Chattisghar, Nagaland, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and the host, Karnataka would be coming here for the event and present their traditional dances”, he said.

Besides cultural event, the symposiums and seminars would be held during the event on various subjects pertaining women, youth and socioeconomic aspects, Mr. Randeep said.

As a special attraction in order to make the participants see the local culture of rural areas, they would be taken to Basarkod village in Muddebihal taluk where they would be spending whole day seeing local tradition, Mr. Randeep said and added that the event would also help in promoting tourism as the people of the other State would be made to visit the tourist sports of the city.

Advisory committee member of Nehru Yuva Kendra’s State organisation, Javid Jamadar, Kendra’s Coordinator, D. Dayanad and national youth award winner, Arvind Koppa was present.
