The Paryaya Kaniyur Mutt will hold cultural and religious programmes titled “Sri Narasimha Navadinotsava” to mark Sri Narasimha Jayanti at the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple here from Sunday to May 4.
Addressing presspersons here on Friday, Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Kaniyur Mutt, said that cultural programmes would be held at 8 p.m. at Rajangana on all the nine days. They include dual violin recital by Lalgudi G.J.R. Krishnan and Lalgudi Vijayalaxmi based on the works of Sri Swathi Thirunal on Sunday; Tulu comedy drama “Paniyare Aavandinia’ by Cha Parka team on Monday; light music programme by Rameshchandra and K.S. Surekha on Tuesday.
The Anantapadmanabha Yakshagana Mandali would give a Yakshagana performance “Magadha Vadhe” on April 29. A Kannada play “Mooru Muthu” would be staged on April 30.

The Soorya Kalavidaru troupe from Bengaluru would present a dance ballet on May 1.
Shankar Namboodari and party would present Carnatic classical music concert on May 2. Rajesh and party would give a mandolin concert on May 3, while there would be a flute concert by S. Swaminathan and party from Chennai on May 4.
Vishwapriya Tirtha Swami of Admar Mutt would give a religious discourse on Srimad Bhagavatha on the nine days at Rajangana from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., the seer said.

He said that the exponent of Dwaita philosophy Sri Madhwacharya had presented the idol of Lord Yoganarasimha which he worshipped, to Sri Rama Tirtha, the first seer of Kaniyur Mutt. From then onwards, regular prayers were being offered to the deity.
Along with the idol of Lord Yoganarasimha, an idol of Karla Narasimha was presented by Sri Madhwacharya to Trivikrama Panditacharya.
