Muslims told to imbibe values propagated by al Jilani

Prominent speakers at a national seminar on ‘Shaikh-ul-Islam Sayyad Muhammed Madani Miya Ashrafi al Jilani: Shaks Aur Aks’ held here recently called upon the Muslim community to inculcate the values propagated by renowned Sufi saint for spiritual progress.

The seminar is first of its kind held on the life and personality of the saint in his life time. It has been organised by the Hazrat Sayed Abdullah Basheban Academy, Belagavi, at Mahatma Gandhi Bhavan on College Road.

Intellectual qualities

Sayed Tariq Saeed Ashrafi, chairman, Department of Urdu, Awadh University, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, who inaugurated the seminar, said the best intellectual and spiritual qualities stood personified in Hazrat Sayyad Muhammed Madani Miya Ashrafi al Jilani. His literary works and poetry on Islamic philosophy needed to be inculcated in day-to-day life. His thirst for knowledge remained insatiable right from his childhood days, Mr. Ashrafi added.

Mufti Aal-e-Mustafa Misbahi, Darul Uloom Amjadiya, Ghosi, of Mau district of Uttar Pradesh, who delivered the keynote address, expressed similar views. He remarked that the Muslim community was greatly indebted to the Hazrat for his highly valuable contribution to spirituality among the community across the world. Mr. Misbahi said the works of Hazrat needs to be continued by the intellectuals from the community.

A magazine ‘Basheban’ was released on the occasion.
