In their petition, Kudermukh Shrama Shakthi Sanghatan and a parent of a student studying in the KV, contended that the proposal would seriously affect the future of the 172 students studying in the KV at Kudremukh.

‘Inconvenience’

Questioning the communication sent by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and subsequent office notes for closure of the KV and shifting of students to KVs in Mangalore, the petitioners claimed that the KV in Mangalore was 106 km away and students and parents would be put to hardship.

The petitioners pointed out that the KIOCL could offer financial assistance to run the KV at Kudremukh.
