K. Abhayachandra Jain, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Services, said on Tuesday that facilities will be provided to develop sports in Udupi district.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the basketball court at the Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium, here. The basketball court and other facilities at the stadium, including the two pavilions, have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.31 crore.
Oscar Fernandes, MP, who inaugurated the basketball court, said that basketball should be encouraged in all schools.
