A missing case filed with Sakleshpur police has helped the police unearth the murder of a woman committed in November last year, on Saturday. Savithramma, a native of Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district, was allegedly murdered at Hagaranahalli in Sakleshpur taluk. Her body was buried in the village.

Sakleshpur police said that Nagaraj, a resident of Hagaranahalli, was in a relationship with Savithramma. She had met him during a visit to Mangaluru. Savithramma, a mother of three, was separated from her husband. Recently, her daughter filed a complaint with Sakleshpur police stating that her mother was missing. The police interrogated Nagaraj as part of the investigation.

According to the police, Nagaraj reportedly admitted to have killed Savithramma and buried her body near his house at Hagaranahalli in November. The police recovered her body near his house and conducted a post-mortem. Nagaraj, who was also separated from his wife, was living with Savithramma. He picked up a quarrel with her on November 16 and it ended with her murder. He buried her body and kept mum about the issue.
