Mill promises to clear cane dues

The Pandavapura Sahakari Sakkare Karkhane, a cooperative sector mill in Pandavapura, has promised sugarcane suppliers to settle their dues as soon as possible. The mill has defaulted on dues running up to Rs. 4 crore.

“We will clear the dues by selling sugar, bagasse and molasses,” said K.S. Nanjundegowda, chairman of PSSK, in a statement. According to him, the mill crushed 3.38 lakh tonnes of sugarcane during 2015-16. Recently, Deputy Commissioner M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan issued a notice to PSSK, directing it to immediately pay the statutory fair and remunerative price.
