Meet on malnutrition, school dropouts in Mysore

Karnataka High Court judge N.K. Patil, who is also the Executive President of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, will inaugurate the programme at Senate Bhavan in Manasagangotri.

The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bangalore; the Mysore District Legal Services Authority, and the district administration have organised a programme on addressing malnutrition in children and bringing school dropouts to the mainstream here on August 3.

Karnataka High Court judge N.K. Patil, who is also the Executive President of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, will inaugurate the programme at Senate Bhavan in Manasagangotri in Mysore at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference at Vartha Bhavan here on Friday, Dinesh Hegde, member secretary, Mysore District Legal Services Authority, Mysore, said Principal District Sessions judge K.S. Mudgal will preside over the function.

The one-day programme will have two sessions from 11 a.m. A session on ‘malnutrition in children: reason and solution’ will be held from 11 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. and retired professor in nutrition, G Saraswathi will be the resource person. Another session on the reason for dropouts will be held from 12.30 p.m. to 1.45 p.m. The resource person for the session is C.G. Venkateshamurthy, professor, RIE, Mysore.

Deputy Director of Women and Child Development N.R. Vijay, Deputy Director of Public Instruction H.R. Basappa, and District Health Officer Puttaswamy were present at the press conference.
