Medical students who are doing their internship in two medical colleges in Kalaburagi took out a protest rally and staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday urging the government not to make rural service compulsory for those who complete MBBS successfully for getting their degree certificates.

Students of Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College and Khaja Bande Nawaz Institute of Medical Science participated in the protest march from the Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

They raised slogans against the State government for making rural service mandatory for those who successfully complete MBBS.
