MCC sets one week deadline for businesses to obtain trade licences

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has threatened to close down businesses and commercial establishments functioning in the city without trade license.

MCC Commissioner C.G. Betsurmath set a deadline of one week for businesses and commercial establishments to obtain trade licences by contacting their respective zonal commissioner's offices; or face action from the civic body.

Pointing out that obtaining a trade licence was mandatory under Section 353 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act 1976, Dr. Betsurmath said any business or commercial establishment functioning without a trade licence was unauthorised.
