Mantralayam mutt ready for Aradhana celebrations

Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Mantralayam, Andhra Pradesh, is spruced up for the 346th Aradhana celebrations starting tomorrow.

Preparations for the 346th Aradhana were completed at the Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami Mutt in Mantralayam, Andhra Pradesh, 40 km from Raichur, on Sunday.

The temple, including several buildings, and the main street surrounding the mutt, were decked with shining colourful lights.

The aradhana rituals would be performed between August 8 and 10.

Sri Subudhendra Tirtha Swami, Peethadhipathi of Sri Raghavendra Swami Mutt, will lead a special puja, as part of the Aradhana, on all the three days.

The temple, which received a coat of paint recently, has been covered with different varieties of lights giving a rich look. The temple staff and priests washed the chariot, which is made with gold, silver and gem, and kept it ready for the procession.

Sri Subudhendra Tirtha has directed the staff and others to take all precautions and make necessary arrangements for visitors as around one lakh devotees from various parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and other parts of the country are expected.

Drinking water, toilets for women and waiting rooms have been arranged. The administrator of the mutt has arranged drinking water facilities as the river, which is very close to the mutt, does not have much water owing to shortage of rain. The mutt has decided to provide tanker water, if required.

Sri Subudhendra Teertha Swamiji said that a stage for cultural programmes as part of the Aradhana, has been set up. Around 5,000 people can watch all programmes scheduled to be performed on the stage easily. Various religious programmes, special pujas, bhajans and traditional songs will be performed during the annual festivities.
