The Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., which had introduced an air-conditioned weekly special train from Mumbai LTT-Mangaluru Junction-Mumbai LTT to clear the extra rush and demand from Mangalureans, has decided to extend the service for three more weeks, starting May 24.

Train No. 02133 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Mangaluru Junction AC Reserved Special will leave LTT at 12.45 a.m. (past midnight) on May 24, May 31 and June 7 to reach Mangaluru Junction at 6 p.m. the same day.
Train No. 02134 Mangaluru Junction-LTT AC Reserved Special will leave Mangaluru Junction at 8.30 p.m. on May 24, May 31 and June 7 to reach Mumbai LTT at 1.15 p.m. the next day, said a release from KRCL.
It will have 17 coaches and halt at Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, and Mulki stations.

Temporary halt
The Railway Board has decided to offer temporary halt at Kumta for Train No. 12618/ 12617 Hazrath Nizamuddin-Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangala Lakshdweep Express on an experimental basis for six months from May 28. The two-minute halt is being given owing to popular demand from the region.
Train No. 12618 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Express will arrive at 9.22 p.m. at Kumta till June 9 and at 10.44 p.m. after June 10 (when the monsoon timetable comes into force) and depart after two minutes while Train No. 12617 Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express will arrive at Kumta at 1.16 a.m. till June 9 and at 11.32 p.m. from June 10, said a release from KRCL.
The release said the commercial halt would be withdrawn if the traffic dealt with during the six-month period is not encouraging.
