His two other brothers - Ghouse and Subhan - were taking him to Belagavi in an auto, when Rasul followed them to the city and continued to quarrel. He took out a machete and charged at his brothers Mohammad and Ghouse, who bled to death before reaching the hospital. Onlookers caught the accused and beat him up. Passers-by also informed the police, who reached the spot and arrested Rasul.

In an unrelated incident, M. Sharif of Sulebavi village was stabbed to death in the morning near the city corporation complex in Goaves. Tilakwadi Police have picked up one person for questioning.
