A 36-year-old man was arrested here on Sunday for allegedly throwing acid on his wife. The Varthur police arrested Feroze Khan based on statements by the medical officers at the Vani Vilas Hospital where his wife, Ulfath Banu (27), was admitted.
The police said the couple had a troubled marriage. Feroze allegedly threw acid on his wife on Saturday night after which she was rushed to the hospital, where she is being treated. Though out of danger, doctors said she has suffered serious burns.
