S.A. Krishnaiah, Director of Oriental Research Centre and Gallery, Udupi, will lead the leather puppetry troupe of well-known artiste-director Belagallu Veeranna to a conference of puppetry artistes at Jakarta in Indonesia from May 24 to 31. According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the troupe would also give performances and hold workshops in other places in Indonesia as well.
Mr. Veeranna had given a new dimension to the traditional leather puppetry.
Besides Mr. Veeranna, the troupe would include artistes such as Mahalingamma, B. V. Ramesh, B.V. Prakash, K. Lingappa, B. V. Mallikarjuna and B.V. Hanumanta.
