Konkani convention at Sirsi on Friday

A three-day national Konkani convention will be held at Vidyadhiraj Kalakshetra at Rayarpeth Sirsi from Friday. It has been organised by the Uttara Kannada district Konkani parishat on the eve of its silver jubilee, according to a release on Tuesday.

Litterateur Sha.Mum. Krishnarao will preside over the convention.

Minister for Tourism R.V. Deshpande will inaugurate the programme at 4 p.m. Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashri, Karnataka Women’s University Vice-Chancellor Meena Chandavarkar, among others, will be present.

Writers and artistes from Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka will participate in the convention.
