KPCC campaign committee head and former Minister H.K. Patil had already tendered his resignation to the post following the party’s poll rout.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has decided to dissolve the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) as a part of its effort to restructure the State unit after the party's drubbing in the recent Lok Sabha election. The party managed to win just a single seat.

However, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and working president Eshwar Khandre will continue to hold the posts, said an AICC release on Wednesday.
