Four of the twenty five persons injured in the fire accident involving National Travels’ Volvo bus in Haveri on Thursday, have been brought to the city and admitted to different hospitals for treatment.
According to the police, the injured have been identified as Mohammed Basheer (42) from , who sustained 60 per cent burns; Tera Ram (27) from Rajasthan and Raghavendra from Uttar Pradesh and cleaner of the bus, Wazeer, who sustained 10 per cent burn injuries. They have been admitted to Manipal, St. John’s and Victoria Hospital, the police said quoting Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli.
Meanwhile, police said all the seven victims of the bus fire at Haveri in Karnataka Thursday had been identified with the help of their kin and the passengers’ list.
The ill-fated Volvo bus belonging to National Travels owned by Zameer Ahmed Khan, JD(S) Member of Legislative Assembly from Chamrajpet in Bangalore, burst into flames after it rammed the railing of a bridge on National Highway 4 in the early hours of Thursday at a village near Haveri.
“A case of rash and negligent driving leading to deaths has been registered against the surviving driver and the bus operator (National Travels) , a police official said.
