Karnataka second pre-university exams results: 59.56 pass percentage recorded

Karnataka recorded an overall pass percentage of 59.56 in the second Pre-University (PU) examinations. The results were announced on Monday by C. Shikha, Director of Pre-University Board.

The results of the 2018 examinations held in March have increased compared to last year’s 52.38%. A total of 6.85 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.

Like every year, girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 67.11% against 52.3%. The pass percentage of rural colleges is more than that of urban colleges (59.95% against 59.45% respectively).

According to information provided by the Department of Pre-University Education, the pass percentage for science combinations stands at 67.48%, while it was 63.64% for commerce and 45.13% for arts combinations. The pass percentage for students who wrote the examination in the English medium stands at 66.06%, while it is 51.46 for those who wrote it in Kannada medium.
