Jewellery, cash taken away

A gang of unidentified persons broke open the door of a house in Veerabhadreshwar Nagar in Yadgir and escaped with gold ornaments worth Rs. 2.25 lakh and Rs. 26,000 in cash on Sunday.

The house’s owner Channareddy Malipatil and his family were sleeping on the roof when the incident occurred.

DSP R.B. Basaragi, CPI Balachandra Lakkam and PSI (Crime) Gurushanth Dasyal inspected the spot and launched an investigation.

A team of fingerprint experts and a sniffer dog squad visited the site of the crime as part of the investigation.

A case has been registered at the Yadgir Town police station.
