JD(S) blames Rayaraddi for KSOU mess

October 16, 2017 11:37 pm | Updated 11:37 pm IST - BENGALURU

The Opposition Janata Dal (Secular) MLCs on Monday blamed Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayaraddi for the mess in Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and alleged that he was trying to swindle ₹600 crore by making efforts to close the university.

Marithibbe Gowda, Basaraja Horatti, Puttanna, and K.T. Srikante Gowda, MLCs, alleged that he was making no efforts to get recognition for the university from the University Grants Commission (UGC), which derecognised it earlier for violation of norms.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar too has no moral right to continue as BJP’s election in-charge for Karnataka Assembly polls since he has made no efforts to provide UGC recognition to KSOU, they alleged.
