Excise Minister and district in-charge, Satish L. Jarkiholi, who is unhappy with his portfolio and seeking change, declined to clarify on his absence to receive Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the airport during his visit to the city on Sunday.
Mr. Siddaramaiah had taken note of his conspicuous absence at the airport stating that he was not aware of the reason behind Mr. Jarkiholi arriving at the airport.
Mr.Jarkiholi, who declined to speak, said his not seeing the chief minister yesterday should not be misinterpreted. He was among those who were keen on seeing Mr. Siddaramaiah became chief minister of the state.
