Excise Minister and district in-charge Satish L. Jarkiholi, who is reportedly unhappy with his portfolio, has declined to comment on his absence at the airport when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the city on Sunday.
Mr. Siddaramaiah had taken note of his conspicuous absence at the airport.

He said that he was not aware of the reason behind Mr. Jarkiholi not arriving at the airport. Mr. Jarkiholi, however, said his not seeing the Chief Minister should not be misinterpreted.
He was among those who were keen on seeing Mr. Siddaramaiah become Chief Minister.
The Minister, who is in charge of Belagavi, was not present to receive Siddaramaiah on Sunday
