Samaj Parivarthan Samudaya (SPS) founder-president S.R. Hiremath said Janandolana Mahamaitri, a forum of various organisations will field 30 candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Speaking to presspersons on Thursday, Mr. Hiremath said that the decision was made after holding interactions at various places of North Karnataka from February 24 to 28. A rally, which began at Kudalasangam has visited Nargund, Kapaptgudda, Shishunal, Kusanoor, and other places.

The government has not taken any initiatives for farmers and suppressed classes. It was owing to this that the Janandolana Mahamaitri decided to contest. The forum was formed to bring in changes in the political system and turn it into a pro-people set up, Mr. Hiremath said.
