It’s a visionary, pragmatic, people-friendly budget: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the Railway Budget as a “visionary, pragmatic and people-friendly” budget, which is in tune with the NDA government’s promise of ushering in achhe din (good days).

In a release here, BJP national general secretary and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar said the approach of the Railway Minister was transparent and aimed at protecting the interests of the citizens and the Railways.

He welcomed proposals such as introduction of tourist trains to link all major tourist destinations across the country, recruitment of women constables to ensure safety of women and augmenting the Railway Protection Force to handle passengers’ safety.

In a separate release, BJP State president Pralhad Joshi said Mr. Gowda’s budget aims to upgrade the Railways to global standards. He particularly hailed the proposal aimed at improving cleanliness in trains and railway stations.
