It will be Bagalkot or Vijayapura: Yeddyurappa

September 22, 2017 05:41 pm | Updated 05:43 pm IST - Belagavi

Former Chief Minister and BJP State unit president B.S. Yeddyurappa has said he would consider contesting from Bagalkot or Vijayapura districts.

He told presspersons that he was arriving at this decision because this would mean that north Karnataka would develop if a leader from this region becomes the Chief Minister.

“The people of this region are demanding that I contest from north Karnataka. I am clear about not contesting from Shikaripura this time. I am thinking about contesting from Bagalkot or Vijayapura. However, all this has not been discussed with national leaders. I will speak to them and do as they say. I will abide by the high command order,” he said. He clarified that other leaders in the party would not change their constituency.

He said he would shift 4-5 important offices from Bengaluru to the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi within 24 hours of coming to power.

Mr. Yeddyurappa said he would soon release detailed documents to expose the corruption in Siddaramaiah’s government and to highlight its failures. “The government is not releasing some documents to hide its failures. But I will release all that in three days.”

He said he had committed no mistake in the exercise of powers as Chief Minister. “I have full faith in the judiciary. I am confident all will be well at the end,” he added.
