A few residents of Hassan city spotted the International Space Station orbiting the Earth on Tuesday evening. Residents of the Master Control Facility staff quarters spotted the international laboratory around 6.50 pm with naked eyes.

Scientists T.N. Suresh Kumar, Rajesh Kannan and others in the MCF quarters, were keeping track of the ISS and they spotted it after the sunset. Mr. Kumar, speaking to The Hindu , “Some of us in the quarters keep track of the ISS through the website. Anybody can do that with the help of ISS tracker website. My friend and young scientist Kannan told me that ISS would be passing Hassan sky. I and my wife Geetha could see it with naked eyes for about five minutes”, he said. The ISS would be orbiting at a speed more than the Earth. People can spot if they can keep a track its movements, he added.
The ISS orbits around Earth at 400 km height.
