‘Implementation of Hindi is everyone’s responsibility’

General Manager of South Western Railway Pradeep Kumar Saxena said that it was the responsibility of every official and employee to ensure that the official language Hindi was implemented effectively in central government offices, government undertakings and banks.

Chairing the 57th Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) Meeting of Hubli-Dharwad here recently, Mr. Saxena said that since Hindi was widely used across the country, it was declared as Rajbhasha as per article 343 of the Constitution. “It is now our responsibility to work sincerely towards its implementation,” he said.

He said that despite Hubballi-Dharawad being under category C among Indian cities, the official language implementation was being effectively done. Mr. Saxena subsequently reviewd the progress of implementation of Hindi in various departments of the zone and government agencies. Rajbhasha Adhikari of SWR Headquarters Sachin proposed vote of thanks. Senior Rajbhasha Adhikari of SWR C. Latha, Deputy Director of Rajbhasha Department (Bengaluru) Vijay Kumar, Chief Workshop Manager of SWR Ajay Kumar, Rahul Khate of State Bank of Mysore, K.P. Shetty of Canara Bank, P.S. Murthy of Oriental Insurance Company and other Central government officials were present.
