The State Government has written to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) asking it to conduct a probe into the multi-crore single digit lottery scam, which has created a flutter in the political and bureaucratic circles.

However, the Government has not fixed a time frame to conduct the probe.

Speaking to presspersons here on Thursday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he had written to the CBI seeking to probe into the lottery scam.

The agency would be asked to probe the case starting from 2007, the year the single digit lottery was banned in the State.

Asked about JD (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy meeting with Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala and handing over documents related to the him, Mr. Siddaramaiah said the Governor was not the probing agency. “If he (Mr. Kumaraswamy) has any documents, let him give to the CBI,” the Chief Minister said.
