Tirthak Saha — an alumnus of International Centre For Applied Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education of the 2011-13 batch of B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering — has brought laurels to his alma mater by figuring in the prestigious 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 global list in the Energy category.

A press release issued by MAHE here recently said the research team led by Mr. Saha (Consumer Resiliency Team) won the second prize in American Electric Power’s Spark Tank Innovation Challenge held across AEP’s 11 state territories in the US.

After two years at ICAS, he proceeded to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia. His Project, “Aggregated Network of Energy Storage” was a virtual power plant-like linked network of behind-the-meter energy storage units in order to realize benefits of energy aggregation such as frequency regulation, capacity management, peak shaving, capital deferral, and vastly increased ‘blue-sky’ reliability for customers and overall reliability metrics for companies.
