With investigations revealing Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s alleged business transactions with several individuals and firms following the recent raids, the Income Tax (I-T) Department took up search and seizure operations in 10 different premises on Wednesday.
Sources in the department confirmed to The Hindu that the search and seizure operations have been taken up simultaneously in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Chennai. One of the premises that has been raided belongs to Vijay Mulugund, secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, who is said to be a close associate of Mr. Shivakumar.
Sources added that the department was now covering the leads that were revealed during the investigation, following the marathon search and seizure operations on Mr. Shivakumar’s properties and those owned by his family.

Early this month, the I-T sleuths carried out a multi-city search on properties linked to Mr. Shivakumar and his brother D.K. Suresh, who is MP of Bengaluru Rural. Searches were carried out in nearly 60 premises across New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chennai, Mr. Shivakumar’s hometown Kanakapura, and at the Eagleton resort, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where the minister was staying with over 40 MLAs from Gujarat.
