Shimoga MP B.S. Yeddyurappa on Saturday denied that he lost the Chief Minister’s post for denotifying land.

“I did not lose power for denotifying land,” he told presspersons after meeting Siddaganga Math seer Shivakumara Swami.

Denotification of land was left to the Chief Minister’s discretion, he said, and added that he had allowed it within the legal framework.

He said that MPs from Karnataka would invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a ‘Guruvandana’ programme of the math seer in September.

The former MP G.S. Basavaraj and the former Minister M.P. Renukacharya were among those who were present.
