Hubballi Railway Station gets bio-toilet

One of the cleaning staff of Hubballi Railway Station inaugurating the ‘Izzat Ghar’ in the presence of General Manager of South Western Railway A.K. Singh and others at Hubballi Railway Station on Thursday.

An eco-friendly bio-toilet named “Izzat Ghar” set up in the circulating area of Hubballi Railway Station was inaugurated on Thursday.

This facility being made available free to the general public and railway passengers is aimed at ensuring that the area is free of open defecation.

One of the cleaning staff of Hubballi Railway Station inaugurated the “Izzat Ghar” in the presence of General Manager of South Western Railway A.K. Singh, Divisional Railway Manger of Hubballi Division Rajesh Mohan and others. Mr. Singh said that a few more bio-toilets would be constructed at various locations in the railway station. He appealed to the public to make use of the facility and help the Railways in keeping the station premises clean.

Various Railway officials, including S.K. Gupta, Premchand, S.K. Jha, Rajeev Saxena, J. Rudraswami, and others were present.

The eco-friendly toilet with bio-digester tank was manufactured at the Basic Training Centre, Carriage Repair Workshop, Hubballi, similar to the one developed in North Eastern Railway.
