Hallada Rameshwara temple gets a facelift

The SDM Dharmothana Trust has restored the Hallada Rameshwara temple located on the premise of SDM Ayurveda Hospital and College at Tanneruhall in Hassan.

A three-day religious programme as part of installation of idols in the temple began on Tuesday. The idols will be installed on Thursday at 7 a.m.

Prasanna N. Rao, principal of SDM College and president of the reception committee for the idol installation ceremony, said at a press conference here on Tuesday that the trust took up restoration of the temple, which was in ruins, considering its historical significance.

“The trust aims to preserve and revive our ancient culture. The Hallada Rameshwara temple is among the several temples chosen by the trust for restoration,” he said.

The temple was restored at a cost of over Rs. 10 lakh.

D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, will take part in religious programmes on Thursday.
