Govt. official files complaint against Sorab MLA

M.K. Suresh, who was serving as Chief Officer of Sorab Town Panchayat and suspended recently, has filed a complaint with the police against Sorab MLA Madhu Bangarappa alleging that the latter verbally abused and intimidated him.

In the complaint lodged with Sorab town police station, Mr. Suresh has alleged that a few elected members of town panchayat had levelled allegations against him on May 10 with regard to irregularities in purchase of dustbins, following which he has justified his stand.

“Mr. Bangarappa had expressed displeasure against me for not furnishing documents that he had sought with regard to the town panchayat administration. He also verbally abused and defamed me in the meeting, besides intimidating me,” he said in his complaint and requested the police to initiate stern action against Mr. Bangarappa.

The police, who have admitted the complaint, are yet to register a case. The police said that further action would be initiated only after a preliminary investigation into the complaint.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bangarappa has denied the allegations levelled against him. . He told presspersons here that the elected representatives were not happy with Mr. Suresh and his work style. The same had been brought to the notice of Deputy Commissioner V.P. Ikkeri. He also claimed that Mr. Suresh was not furnishing documents sought by the elected representatives over administrative issues.
