Connoisseurs of art will be in for a visual treat at the flower show being organised by the Department of Horticulture as part of the annual three-day Gavisiddeshwar fair beginning from Tuesday in Koppal.
Recreating Anjnadri hill, a well-known pilgrim centre believed to be the birth place of Veeranjaneya, with the temple on top of it with flowers, will be the highlight of this year’s flower show.
In addition, a statue of Gandhi, using flowers, would also be created to pay floral tribute on his 150th birth anniversary, according to Krishna Ukkund, Deputy Director, Horticulture, Koppal.

There will be art works in a variety of styles using flowers, including Japanese, rangoli,, vertical garden, tyre garden, floriculture using waste materials, and fruit carvings, among other attractions, on display.
There will also be an exhibition and sale of horticultural produce as part of promoting horticulture. Farmers, visiting the exhibition, will be given information on development of horticulture and agriculture involving modern farm practices, display of inputs, farm machineries, among other things.
