Flight operations from Mysuru are set to resume come September 20, a day before the Dasara celebrations kick off in the city.
The daily flight operations between Mysuru and Chennai will signal the city’s return to the air map of the country under the Centre’s regional air connectivity scheme UDAN (Ude Deshka Aam Nagarik).
Though flight operations were earlier set to resume on September 15, Mysuru airport director Manoj Kumar Singh said the date for the flight operations of Trujet, a carrier with its headquarters in Hyderabad, had to be rescheduled to September 20.

The carrier will operate an ATR-72 aircraft with a capacity of 70 passengers.
According to a note from Trujet to the airport director, the flight will depart from Hyderabad daily at 3.30 p.m. and arrive in Chennai at 5 p.m. It will depart from Chennai at 5.25 p.m. and arrive in Mysuru at 6.40 p.m. The flight will depart from Mysuru at 7.05 p.m. and reach Chennai at 8.20 p.m. It will take off from Chennai at 8.45 p.m. and reach Hyderabad at 10.15 p.m.

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Aviation Jayant Sinha will be in Mysuru to inaugurate the flight operations.
The airfare appears to be dynamic, with the cost of a ticket for a flight between Mysuru and Chennai on September 20 available for ₹1,500 on the Trujet website. But the ticket is available for ₹999 for a journey on October 20.
The cost of ticket between Mysuru and Hyderabad for September 20 was ₹3,999.
Mr. Singh said Air Odisha is also expected to start operations from Mysuru to Chennai shortly with a 19-seater aircraft under UDAN.
A bustling tourist destination, Mysuru has fallen off the air map ever since Air Alliance suspended flight operations two years ago.
Most of the carriers who folded up operations from Mysuru to Bengaluru had complained of poor patronage, while stakeholders said the timings were not convenient and suggested that the authorities explore routes outside the Mysuru-Bengaluru sector.
