Five arrested for killing deer

Regional forest officials on Monday arrested five persons for hunting deer in Ennehole forest limits.

All the five men — identified as Balaraju (35), Domi (25), Joseph (19), Venkatesh (28) and Muniraj (45) — are from Basavapura in Anekal taluk, Bengaluru. They are said to have killed a female deer by firing a bullet. They were caught by the officials while transporting the deer.

The forest officials seized their Tata Sumo, the bullets, battery and some weapons. The men are now in judicial custody.
