The Samaj Parivartan Samudaya filed in the Supreme Court its final comprehensive submission in the illegal mining case on March 21. Disclosing this to presspersons here, S.R. Hiremath, president of the samudaya, said that the court, in all probability, would pronounce the judgment shortly on all the issues raised through Interlocutory Applications.
“The samudaya has submitted ‘clinching evidence’ to substantiate the allegations against all the political leaders to the court-appointed Central Empowered Committee and the Supreme Court,” he said.
In its final submission, the samudaya has focussed on the alleged illegal acts of the former Minister and senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar and Leher Singh, MLC and a trusted aide of the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa.

Mr. Shivakumar allegedly got 4.20 acres of prime land at Beniganahalli in Bangalore denotified “illegally” with Mr. Yeddyurappa’s help and sold it to South West Mining Company for Rs. 20 crore, he alleged. Similarly, Ramgadh Minerals and Mining Private Limited (RMMPL) had paid Rs. 14.50 crore to Sansadan Vikas Limited belonging to Mr. Leher Singh, “to receive favours”, he alleged.
The samudaya was in possession of documents in support of the charges. It submitted them to the Central Empowered Committee on March 21, he said.
Besides the land denotification case, he said Mr. Shivakumar used his influence over the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh (in 2005) to get 10.80 lakh tonnes of high grade (65 Fe) ore allotted from Mysore Minerals to eight companies, some of which were owned by him and his brother, D.K. Suresh, and his close associates, including K. Ponnuraj.
