January 23, 2015 01:06 pm | Updated 01:06 pm IST - Kolar

MLC Y.A. Narayanaswamy said that education should promote humanity among students in order to build a better society.

Inaugurating the annual day function of Gokul Educational Institutions here on Thursday, he said, responsibility of parents does not stop only at fulfilling the basic needs of their children. They should monitor the activities of the child to stop him/her from taking the wrong path, Mr. Narayanaswamy said.

He criticized the government for giving unbridled licence to open schools for those coming from other states. The government should cancel the licence of those institutions who start schools and colleges in order to make money by exploiting parents, he said.
