Drawing the attention of voters

As part of the ongoing voters’ awareness movement, the city witnessed an impressive procession followed by a torchlight parade at K.R. Circle here on Thursday.

Held as part of the Systematic Voters Educational and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), the procession comprised students, athletes, police personnel, mounted police, apart from folk artistes.

The participants took an oath to partake in the electoral process and exercise their franchise.

The procession, which commenced from the Palace Gate North, passed through the Town Hall-Clock Tower, Ashoka Road, State Bank of Mysore, Irwin Road, New Sayyaji Rao Road and K.R. Circle before culminating at the Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple, Palace Gate North.

After the conclusion of the procession, the torchlight parade was inaugurated at the K.R. Circle by Commissioner of Police M.A. Saleem. Senior officials from various government departments participated.
