Deputy Commissioner N. Jayaram has warned of disciplinary action against officials who do not attend district-level SC/ST vigilance and monitoring committee meetings.
Upset over the absence of officials such as the city police commissioner, chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat, Deputy Director of Public Administration and others at the meeting of the committee here on Tuesday, he said that absenteeism without a valid reason would be construed as indifference towards problems and issues concerning those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
