The Karnataka High Court on Friday asked the authorities to continue with analog TV signals till April 8 as the court, due to paucity of time, could not hear the petitions filed by cable operators from Bangalore and Mysore seeking extension of the March 31 deadline for digitisation of signals through set-top boxes.
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and some of the multi-system operators have opposed extension of deadline for digitisation through set-top boxes while pointing out that sufficient time of about 15 months was given for implementing the process of digitisation.
In its statement, the Ministry has stated that the difficulties expressed by the cable operators stating that the task of digitisation is very hard to achieve “are exaggerated and misleading”.

While extending an earlier interim order for continuing analog signals, Justice S. Abdul Nazeer said that the petitions would be heard on April 8.
