Congress plans Mysuru rally on Feb. 6

The Congress party has planned a mammoth rally in Mysuru on February 6 as part of its campaign for the elections to zilla and taluk panchayats.

A decision was taken to mobilise 60,000 people from five adjoining districts at the Maharaja’s College grounds in Mysuru for the rally. The programme will be attended by Congress’ general secretary in charge of Karnataka, Digvijay Singh, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwara, who is also president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

Senior Congress leaders from region, including Chamarajanagar MP R. Dhruvanarayan, former MP A.H. Vishwanath, MLAs H.P. Manjunath and R. Vasu, besides the chairpersons of various boards and corporations attended the meeting held in Mysuru on Monday to chalk out plans for the rally.
