CM launches Mysuru’s Indira Canteens

He also savours the inaugural breakfast – Upma and Kesaribath.

Mysuru’s first Indira Canteen was launched on the premises of Command Area Development Authority (CADA) office near the Mysuru Palace here on Friday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the canteen and also savoured the inaugural breakfast – Upma and Kesaribath.

Developed on the lines of ‘Bengaluru model’ of Indira Canteens, 11 canteens will be operated across Mysuru city, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at subsidised costs.

Timings

The breakfast will be served from 7.30 a.m. to 10 a.m., lunch from 1 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. and dinner, 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

The cost incurred on feeding each person is around Rs. 60 but only Rs. 25 would be charged for each person at Rs. 5 for breakfast and Rs. 10 each for lunch and dinner. The remaining expenditure will be borne by the government.

Mysuru City Corporation will look after canteen operations and food will be cooked at two centralised kitchens.
