K.S. Eshwarappa, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, has accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of trying to hide his failures by creating confusion over issues such as the Kalasa-Banduri and the IIT.

Speaking to presspersons at Almatti village, before participating in Raitha Chaitanya Yatra launched by the BJP on Sunday, he said that when the Chief Minister failed to handle issues successfully, he started giving contradicting statements and blaming the BJP for the issues.

“Because of his contradictory statements, the issues of establishing IIT in the State have become contentious. Now, the people of Dharwad and Raichur districts are fighting for the IIT. The Chief Minister did not take a clear stand on the issues which led to this trouble,” Mr. Eshwarappa said.

Claiming that this year alone, 515 farmers have committed suicide, Mr. Eshwarappa said that the government had given compensation to only 108 farmers.

He alleged that even the District in-charge Minister were not visiting villages.
