The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has rebuffed the claims of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre made through the advertisements being issued to mark BJP’s one year in power.
District secretary G.M. Jainekhan said on Thursday that the government was over-concerned about the MNCs and industrialists. It was amending land laws to acquire farming lands to facilitate MNCs to expand their base in India.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to recover the black money stashed in Swiss banks and other countries and bring it back into India within 100 days of coming to power and subsequently deposit Rs. 15 lakh in bank accounts of every Indian, besides taking concrete measures to bring down prices of fuel and commodities.

But the Union government increased the duty on petroleum fuels by more than seven per cent and the prices of foodgrain was sky-rocketing. Traders and middlemen were reaping huge profits at the expense of the hapless farmer.
