As many as 652 candidates appeared in person for the document verification for Common Entrance Test rank holders at the helpline centre at Government Engineering College here since June 5.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) set up the centre to help candidates from Hassan and parts of Tumkur, Chikmagalur and Mandya districts. KEA coordinator B.M. Jagadeesh told The Hindu that the interactive session conducted by the KEA ahead of document verification was helpful for students.

Meanwhile, a section of students, particularly those from rural areas, suggested that the KEA make arrangements to help them go through the online counselling without confusion. Ravi from Mallenahalli in Chikmagalur district, who is aspiring to get a seat in one of the agriculture colleges, said: “I have not used computers so far. I have to depend on others to make option entry online and follow-up further process,” he said.
Ravi said the KEA should conduct training sessions at the centres to help candidates access internet and make option entry.
