CESC to replace faulty transformers

Mandya Karnataka 06_May_2015 : The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Ltd is replacing damaged electric polls, transformers, junction boxes and other materials in Mandya district

Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Ltd. (CESC) has announced a power shutdown between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at several areas on Thursday because of maintenance works at three power supply stations.

The maintenance works are expected to start in the Mandya, V.C. Farm and Hampapura power supply stations at 9 a.m., a senior officer at the electricity supply corporation told The Hindu .

Areas affected will be Subhash Nagar, V.V. Road, Hosahalli, Vinayaka Layout, 100 ft road, Nehru Nagar, Hosahalli, Dwaraka Nagar, NGO’s Layout, Sriram Nagar, Karasawadi, Chamundeshwari Nagar, Shankara Nagar, Induvalu, Siddaiahna Koppal, Marachakanahalli, Mothahalli, Bevinahalli, Hullukere, A. Hulikere, B. Hulikere, Hebbakavadi, Santhekasalagere, Haniyambadi, Cheeranahalli, Thimmanahosuru, Marasinganahalli, Lokasara, Yarahalli, Keregodu, Dodda Garudanahalli, Bilidegalu, Mudagandur, Maragowdanahalli, B. Hosuru, Hampapura, Kallumanti Doddi, Soudenahalli, Bettahalli, Beechanahalli, Purada Koppal and M. Honnenahalli.

Transformers replace

Meanwhile, the CESC has decided to prune branches of trees and replace faulty transformers in the district.

“We will repair the snapping cables, replace damaged electric poles and weak equipments used at poles,” he said.

The electricity supply corporation has already replaced a good number of faulty/damaged transformers across the district, he claimed.
